What does Em Bailey mean?

            She said that many interesting people are also weird, what she means is that, sometimes interesting people do things that aren't really that smart. For example, sometimes they tried to act unique to stand out from the "crowd." They sometimes wear clothes we never imagined. Sometimes they create music videos, we never imagined. Sometimes they say things that really make no sense, like stories/experiences.

What does Tori Amos mean?

            She is saying that she's really unpredictable. She's kind of saying that people call other people weird, when she's weirder than others. For example, she's saying that someone may do something silly and she'll end up doing something even sillier.

What does John Lennon mean?

            He's saying that everyone is weird. He's saying that those people that don't consider themselves weird are actually weird. He's kind of saying that everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect. He's also trying say to look at yourself, before you tell anyone that they're weird. For example, when he was trying to tell the world that violence is wrong many people disagreed with him. People called him, weird.

What does Rebecca McKinsey mean?

            She's trying to say that, life would be boring if everything was the same. People wouldn't be famous if everyone acted the same way. She's saying that instead of this, she rather be weird and act different, than being stuck in a world where everything was the same. For example, in the book, "The Giver", by Lois Lowry, everything is the same color. Trees, flowers, etc, are dark gray and gray. Everything is so boring.

What does Christina Baloga mean?

            She's trying to say that people may call someone weird, but that someone is actually being unique. That someone is standing out of the "crowd." While everyone else is "trying to fit in." You can try as hard as you can to fit in, but you'll end up being left out. The reason of this is because there are many changes happening too fast in the world. For example, a shirt may be in fashion this season, a few weeks later  it won't. It would be another shirt.

What do all of these quotes have in common?

            All of the quotes above are saying that being weird isn't bad. All of these people are saying that no one is really "normal." The definition of "normal": are things you hear and see daily. You see we don't all see and hear the same things, so it's hard to categorize things that we think that are weird. They're all saying that being weird actually means to be unique. To stand out the "crowd" means that it could be from your friend circle that you're standing out. It can also mean from a nation. Being different is sometimes good. You may be asking yourself why? Well, you see if everyone is different, they can think and say things differently. If things are repeated over and over again, it gets boring. It's good to be unique and different this way people can express what they feel and think.
